Tshirt Tutorial using Digital Stamps

Hi Saturated Canary Fans!

Carisa here and I have a fun tutorial that has been in the making for a long time. I started making these tshirts using digital stamps last year for my kiddos. Recently, a good friend asking me to join her birthday Blog hop and I jumped at the chance to make her something unique and special. So, while doing so, I created a little step by step tutorial that turned out to be super picture heavy! LOL Sit back, enjoy a cuppa hot cocoa and I hope you like my tutorial!

Step 1: Print your image on Transfer Paper. I used HP Transfer Paper for Dark Clothing even though I'm usually using it on white. I like it and it works.

Step 2: Carefully cut around your image as close as you can to the black lines. Then carefully remove the backing before placing your image on the tshirt for ironing.  I can't tell you how many times I have forgotten this step only to ruin it b/c I end up fusing it to the backing and then I can't use it. Grrr! LOL

Step 3: Iron your image on the shirt using the protective sheet that comes in the transfer package and let completely cool before removing the protective paper. ps. it's a good idea to slip a piece of chipboard inside the tshirt both for ironing and coloring.

Step 4: This is the fun part - time to color!!!

Step 5: Once you are done coloring, you need to heat set your color and I do this by using the same protective sheet from the Step 3.Once again, you need to let this completely cool before removing.

Final product! Doesn't it look awesome? I think so and they wash so well. My girls have had their shirts for over a year and the color hasn't faded or bled at all. I'm so happy with this technique. It's time consuming but so well worth it to give someone a one of a kind gift!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I really hope you enjoyed the tutorial as much as I did making the tshirt. Digital stamps really give you a world of opportunities when you think outside the box!!

Hugs,
Carisa

  8. Totally amazing - I had no idea about this at all. I love the way the colours just pop against the white of the T-shirt & all your detail in the colouring.

  11. Hi everyone, Just wanted to followup on some questions!

Grandmabonnie - I just wash like normal - no special considerations. I will say I don't use bleach on my whites so I don't know if bleach would cause the colors to fade or run.

  16. I admire what you have done here. I like the part where you say you are doing this to give back but I would assume by all the comments that this
is working for you as well.

    1. T-shirts have long been vehicles of personal expression. Be it your faded old Slayer T, your snippet of snark brashly
emblazoned across your chest, your favorite comic book character set to fabric, or just your plain old white vest
replete with a few coffee stains; your t-shirt tells people something about who you are. So what if you could change
it, constantly, by making it digitally interactive?

      design a t shirt
      print on shirts
      digital t shirt printing
      custom tee shirts
      create t shirts
